  1. Dave,
Stay in our burrow and keep sleeping this year! We already know it is going to be an early spring because you aren’t going to see anything out there today especially your shadow!

  2. Please predict an early spring! We are sick of the snow and cold! Have a cookie for us.

  3. Happy belated Easter and Happy early Spring to Dunkirk Dave and his family. Your early spring prediction was right on target
for the Adirondacks this year! Yeah!! We are at least 2-3 weeks early! I hope the Easter bunny was very good to you and that you are enjoying this wonderful spring weather!

All our love from Sheila and critters.

  4. Dunkirk Dave
Thrilled with your early spring prediction. We are freezing in Tampa Bay and need a warm-weather prognostication! Thanks from a very special Florida friend. Barbara

  5. My friend is from Punxsutawney and all this time I’ve heard about Gobbler’s Knob and the all-famous Phil, I forgot to mention to said friend that in Dunkirk we have our own prognosticator, Dave.

Also, Mirror Images is a fine service. Woohoo.

Finally, preview for Sunday: Polamalu predicts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFzIdZbypNk

  6. Dear Dave,

You have cute babies. Happy Groundhog’s Day! We are sorry you saw your shadow. We are tired of the cold weather. Stay Warm!

    Love,

  7. Dave,
Thanks again for your forecast. Shucks,…there goes the good skiing. I’m not insinuating anything but I hope to never be reading headlines in the paper like, “Local woodchuck accepts boodle of carrot cake to look the other way.” I know you wouldn’t do that. Right? Are you absolutely sure you put your contacts in this morning before you went out?
Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to live with it. Thanks anyways.
    Peace and fresh green grass,
    ~Chris.

  8. Phil WHO??? We’re going with YOU Dave! You’re the best! C’mon Spring! Thanks for cheering us up! P.S. We’re going to be coming to Dunkirk this June…..any chance we could stop by for a visit?

  9. HAPPY GROUNDHOG’S DAY! I knew Dunkirk Dave would predict any early Spring because that is what New Yorkers
are hoping for! He was correct last year and I know he will
    be right this year too!

Also, a very belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

You are always thought of and loved here on the Mountain of Bleecker in Fulton County, NY. All the Bleecker woodchucks
give their love to you and your woodchuck family.

I also want to compliment Bob Will and Bill Verge on their endless dedicated years of work with the woodchucks of NY State.

All my love to all of you! Sheila and Bleecker critters

We are rehabilitating a very ill little female groundhog Never realized what endearing and charming personalities these little critters have. She is a delight to be nursing back to health and we hope she responds to the antibiotics and gets better. Will keep you posted!

  17. Dunkirk Dave, how can I keep groundhogs out of my garden this spring? Do I have to dig a deep trench and bury a fence underground? I don’t want to hurt your kind, but you keep eating my vegetables. Should I setup an open garden for you to eat from?

  18. Hi Dave, I always mention you when people forget NY has its own weather hog! I love you Dave! I just stopped in to see what you had to say on Groundhog Day. Thanks for stepping out in the cold for us. Bye!
